Mobile travelers and established businesses have very different real estate needs, but McNeill Commercial Real Estate is expert in meeting both. The company specializes in hotel development and management as well as commercial real estate from medical offices to warehouses.
McNeill’s hospitality group officially started in 2014, but CEO Phillip McNeill Jr. has worked with nearly every hotel flag in the country over the past 30 years. The company is primarily focused on Marriott and Hilton properties, with current developments including a parcel in Athens, Georgia under contract to build a Hilton and a Marriott site in Manhattan, Kansas.
The commercial real estate team, headed by Spence Ray, has developed every type of business property imaginable. Their newest project is especially relevant to the company: the McNeill offices are consolidating and moving to one of two new office buildings they recently built in Wolf River/Kimbrough Office Park. The McNeill Company worked with Financial Federal from the land development to the construction loan.
“They know the frustration points of developing real estate, many of which are time-sensitive,” said Ray. “In all of those areas, they understand what developers can find hard and try to address that and they do an off-the-chart job.”
McNeill’s team uses Financial Federal’s loan products for their hotel developments as well. “With the Hampton Inn Suites in Birmingham, the seller commented how easy it was to work with us and the Bank,” said McNeill. “If I could do every deal with them, we would.”
