Bringing Beauty Home
When Memphian Elizabeth Malmo began her career in interior design, she followed the recommended path and moved to New York. After she and her husband-to-be spent almost four years in the city, however, they were called back to the South, and that was where Malmo found her own direction.
Elizabeth Malmo Interior Design started as a booth at Palladio Market. As a burgeoning entrepreneur, she was filled with questions, and her childhood friend Taylor Maury at Financial Federal was able to provide answers.
“I was 25 or 26, and I didn’t know what in the world I was doing, so it was nice having someone explain this is how you start your business,” said Malmo. Starting with a basic line of credit, the business expanded and is now headquartered in a combination showroom/workspace in the Broad Avenue Arts District of Memphis.
Malmo’s firm creates beauty and cohesion in private residences as well as public spaces like apartment clubhouses and offices. Her work is focused in Memphis, but has also taken her to Nashville, Birmingham, and Atlanta. With a business so dependent on word of mouth, Malmo understands the value of providing extraordinary service. She found partners who shared this philosophy at Financial Federal.
“Working with them was super easy. I called around to a lot of different local banks and it was without a doubt the easiest and best. When I came in to do the paperwork, I felt like they had my best interests at heart.”
