Memphis-Based Financial Federal Expands Commercial/Multi-Family Division

Memphis, TN – Jan. 31, 2011   Financial Federal has expanded its Commercial/Multifamily Division by opening an origination office in Dallas under the direction of mortgage banking veteran, Don Farmer.

With loan production offices in Memphis, Nashville and Atlanta, Financial Federal has sought to extend its footprint to other locations to broaden its national production.  According to Rick Wood, Financial Federal’s executive vice president and head of the Commercial/Multifamily Division, “Finding the right person was more important than finding a new market.”

Financial Federal became familiar with Don Farmer and the quality of his work during the five years Farmer led the Dallas office for Bridger Commercial Funding. Financial Federal accessed that capital source over that period.

“Don is honest, understands real estate, and is respected by his peers”, said Jon Van Hoozer, senior vice president and chief underwriter for Financial Federal’s Commercial/Multi-Family Division.  “He is a great fit for us.”

Farmer says he grew to understand the “brand” of Financial Federal while working with the company on loan production. “Financial Federal is well-known nationally, both by its borrowers and correspondent lenders, as a reliable, trustworthy mortgage banking institution,” he said. “I wanted to be affiliated with that brand.”

Financial Federal is a Program Plus Seller/Servicer for Freddie Mac, as well as a loan production and servicing correspondent for several life insurance companies. From the home office in Memphis, Financial Federal services over $1.2 billion in commercial loans with properties across the United States.

A Memphis-based community bank, Financial Federal specializes in high quality customer service and customized banking solutions within its three divisions: private banking, residential and commercial/multi-family.
