Financial Federal Savings Bank has added an origination office in Dallas for its commercial/multifamily division.

The expansion of Memphis-based Financial Federal, a thrift that has limited deposit gathering functions and doesn’t operate as a retail bank, adds to branches it has in Memphis, Nashville and Atlanta.

The commercial and multifamily division provides financing for apartments, retail, office, industrial, self-storage and senior housing projects. It services about $1 billion in commercial loans for properties across the U.S.

Dallas banker Don Farmer will head up the office. For the last five years, he led the Dallas office of Bridger Commercial Funding.

“Don is honest, understands real estate and is respected by his peers,” said Jon Van Hoozer, senior vice president and chief underwriter for Financial Federal’s Commercial/Multi-Family Division, in a statement. “He is a great fit for us.”
